Wheat Ridge Presbyterian Church Choir
The Wheat Ridge Presbyterian Church (WRPC) Choir welcomes teens and adults of any ability and experience
There are typically 10-16 members who participate each Sunday morning. The choir sings an anthem, hymns from the Presbyterian Church (USA) hymnal, and responses as part of the service from September through May.
Rehearsals are held before the Sunday worship service (8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.). During the Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter seasons, festival choruses are open to additional singers who may want to participate on a short-term basis. In the summer, we have a diverse schedule of guest musicians who provide music in the Outdoor Worship Center.
WRPC Choir is Home to a Dedicated Group of Musicians
WRPC Choir is home to a dedicated group of musicians, some of whom have participated in the choir for more than 50 years, as well as newcomers. We have also welcomed teens from our congregation who love to sing. For the past several years, the church has hired high school section leaders from local high schools such as Denver School of the Arts who bring their wonderful musical expertise to our ensemble.
In addition to the weekly worship service, the WRPC choir has a long tradition of caroling during the holiday season. This festive and meaningful tradition allows us to visit church members who are in assisted living situations or are homebound. For several years, we have also provided music for the Highland West Community senior living holiday party.
